Everyone knows that snooty barista stereotype, the kind that “well, actually”’s you when you order something confusing, or looks down on you for not knowing coffee-specific buzzwords. After a combined 34 years in the industry, Jed Baxter and Erika Vonie wanted to create coffee consulting unlike ever seen before. We believe that coffee should be fun, as some of our best coffee times together have been off-the walls energetic and exciting. Gone are the self-serious, stuffy and confusing coffee trainings of the past. We cater our consulting services to the needs of our clients, and offer a wide range of experiential trainings that will not only educate you, but will leave a lasting impression as well.

Classes and Trainings
For baristas and coffee enthusiasts alike
With Jed’s SCA certification and Erika’s Q-Grade certification, we tailor our training from beginner basics for baristas in cafes, to competition-level coffee experts. One of our greatest combined loves is getting people excited about coffee, whether its learning about where it comes from, how it gets processed and roasted, to how to make each cup delicious. We believe that coffee is a learned skill, and getting people pumped on learning everything there is to know about it furthers the journey.
Using our combined love of teaching newbies, we also offer classes for non-coffee workers like “How to Taste Coffee Like a Pro” and “How to Make Cafe Menu Drinks at Home”. We offer at-home trainings for coffee parties, lessons on how to use your at-home coffee devices, latte art, the art of coffee cocktails and more. We also love any and all suggestions to ways people want to learn about coffee, and offer customized lessons.

The tornado of energy that happens when Jed and Erika host a party is infectious, and we love bringing the party to you! Whether you’d like us to host a throwdown at your cafe, or lead a happy hour for your employees, we at White T-Shirt Contest bring a level of excitement unparalleled in the business. We’ve led triangulations and latte art contests, all with a special twist that makes our parties ones to remember.

Jed and Erika met over a decade ago at Ultimo Coffee in Philadelphia, and became lifelong friends. Through the years, we’ve competed together, hosted parties together, covered shifts for each other, and most importantly have fun together. Our combined 34 years of experience has seen us cover every single aspect of the coffee industry there is, compete at local, national and international levels, gain industry- standard certifications, open up locations, and come up with unique avenues for coffee concepts.
While talking about what we want to see as the future of coffee events and trainings, Erika recalled a game she used to play at a cafe, where every barista would come in wearing a white t-shirt, and we would see how long it took until we stained the shirt with coffee. From there, we got the idea that coffee should always be a party, and that there are so many fun and adventurous ways to teach people about coffee that go beyond the current standard.
